WELDING
Compared with traditional welding methods, laser welding has several advantages such as high welding speed resulting in increased productivity, a small thermal interaction zone and the possibilty of laser deep welding. Therefore, laser welding applications are increasingly being used successfully in industry.
For this process Precitec offers a comprehensive range of processing heads and monitoring for Nd: YAG, Ytterbium disc or fibre, diode and CO2 applications.
GLUING
The detection of imperfections in the applied adhesive bead and the monitoring of width, height and the cross-sectional area of a glue bead both serve to increase process safety in serial production. These tasks are performed by the new GBM Glue Bead Monitor whose camera can be set up easily at each dispensing nozzle. The ability to make very small measurements and insensitivity to the effects of daylight or secondary light are distinguishing characteristics of this system. In addition, the system is almost completely independent of component and adhesive colouring. Typical monitoring applications in automotive construction are glue beads on windscreens or flanged seam connections.
CUTTING
Laser beam cutting technology has become standard for a wide and constantly increasing range of material types, thicknesses and shapes. The diversity of applications places high demands on machine flexibility and the interfaces between the work piece and the machine.
