Rofin Micro offers a large range of enclosures and product systems from the extremely popular StarWeld Performance (Over 3,000 units) to the complex high speed perforation machines. The range is summarised below.

StarWeld Select

The StarWeld Select defines a new class of manual welding lasers. A fully integrated system: ergonomically optimized manual welding laser, joystick controlled deposit welding or precise CNC system.

Four precision axes, short set-up times, easy CNC programming. As much automation as you want, with minimal programming required. A multi-functional joystick and large colour touch-screen are enough for simple and intuitive parameter setting.

StarWeld Desktop

The Desktop is the all-purpose and value-for-money compact tabletop laser system for manual welding. It was designed for the specific demand in laboratories, workshops and institutes and is hence the ideal system for the entry into laser technology. The Desktop is ergonomically optimized and can be placed on any desk. The air-cooled system requires only a 230 V power supply.

The workpiece can be positioned via stereo microscope and cross-hair. The high performance and long lifetime open up applications in customizedand prototype production, for repair works and just as well for small batch production.

StarWeld Performance

The Performance ushered in a new era of modern manual welding laser systems. In 1992, ROFIN Baasel Lasertech launched the Performance and today several thousand systems are in worldwide operation.

An ergonomic relaxed seating and armposition, ample work space and easily legible displays provide for relaxed working - even after hours. The workpiece can be positioned via a stereomicroscope and cross-hair.

The high-performance of the laser and the long lifetime open up applications in the customized and prototype production, for repair workds and just as well for small batch production. Wheels make the laser mobile, it is air-cooled and only requires a 230 V power supply. A wide range of option can be supplied for the Perfornance. We deliver a laser optimized for your application.

StarWeld Performance CNC

ROFIN has equipped the StarWeld Manual Performance – the market leading manual laser welding tool – with up to three CNC controlled axes and an optional swivelling axis. A very compact, highly precise system of excellent price-performance ratio. It combines the advantages of CNC technology with the convenient usability of a manual laser welding tool and involves
minimal set-up and programming time.

With StarWeld CNC you can process workpieces of up to 400 mm x 200 mm x 100 mm (LxWxH) with a repeat ability of less than 20 μm. What's more, without changeover time the system can be used as a manual laser welding tool.

StarWeld Tool Integral

With its large swing doors and the sturdy and precise motor-driven cross table, the StarWeld Tool Integral can take workpieces up to 50 cm long and weighing up to 350 kg. This allows processing of large molds and tools. As an option, by leaving the large doors open, the StarWeld Tool Integral can
be transformed into an open laser class IV work station for oversize workpieces. The StarWeldWeld Tool Integral is also an all-in-one device, without external units for cooling or beam generation. The system can be equipped with a crane loading option.

StarWeld Tool Open

The Tool Open ist the attractive solution for high-value repair of large-size molds and tools on-site - even when built-in.Positioning of the laser to the workpiece can be done quickly and precisely with the weight-compensated articulated arm. The alignment of the motor-driven axes of the processing heads, parallel to the welding seam, provides for intuitive use of the travel. Usually a one-axis control is sufficient to achieve a clean and straight seam.

All components  are integrated in a compact, mobile unit. The control box for system control can be dismounted and moved so that all essential parameters can be set near to the workpiece.

StarWeld Dynamic

The StarWeld Dynamic is the combination of a pulsed 40 W laser with sweet spot resonator and dynamic beam welding technology in a compact, ergonomic class I housing. It is the system of choice for welding of small and mid-sized workpieces in small batch production, e. g. in electronics, electromechanics, sensor, telecommunication or medical device industries.

StarWeld Polyscan

The PolyScan is a new turnkey system for contour welding and quasi-simultaneous welding of polymers. Depending on the pigmentation of the material it uses diode or Nd:YAG lasers. Everything is integrated in the compact housing: Laser
source, deflection unit, controller, power supply, cooling system and a flat display with a multiscreen function.
One application example: Welding of sensors in the medical device industry. They have to be small, antiseptically sealed and efficient. Because the laser beam applies the heat of fusion very accurately, seam welds can be placed adjacent to temperature- and vibration-sensitive electronic components.

StarWeld Universal

StarCut Tube

The StarCut Tube is a high-precision laser cutting system for fully automatic cutting of medical implants like stents or other tubing precision parts. Innovative motion systems based on linear motor technology, direct driven rotary axes snf a sophisticated control electronics allow cutting a 8 mm long coronary stent within less than one minute's time.

Perfolas

Laser perforation systems especially designed for perforating of cigarette tipping paper and other web materials. PerfoLas systems perforate and cut up to 4 bobbins parallel which means 480,000 holes per second.

The system's heart is a special optical beam multiplexer combined with CO2 lasers of the DC Series especially optimised for performance stability and sophisticated paper rollers for high paper speeds at excellent winding qualities and optical control systems (VPM).
